Welcome to the 2013-2014

U-Innovate! Competition

Congratulations to all on a job well done!!!

Need Advice? Sign up with SCORE! Representatives are on campus on Tuesday’s in KAL 215 from Noon to 3 – any student (or anyone else) can sign up for an appointment through the SCORE website for counseling. Advance appointments are required but are free.

What exactly is this competition?
It’s a way for entrepreneurial thinkers to refine a “big idea” and get it in front of a supportive and enthusiastic audience!  Oh…and the three best “big ideas” win substantial cash prizes and free summer housing on campus.

Who is an “entrepreneurial thinker”?
That’s simple!  Someone – anyone, any major, any year, any background – who recognizes opportunities where others don’t.  E-thinkers imagine, then they innovate to solve problems in novel ways that make a difference in society.

What’s a “big idea”?
Essentially, a big idea is a creative solution to some problem that you have identified and think you can solve.  Your idea can create value so that it makes life easier for consumers, addresses a nagging social problem, or meets a need that either hasn't been adequately met or no one has yet figured out how to meet that need!

What exactly does U-Innovate! do to help me get my idea in a shape that can be entered in the competition?
There are plenty of opportunities – featured speakers, panel discussions about what it takes to turn your entrepreneurial ideas into reality, and a series of workshops on campus that are all FREE to Ursinus students.
